Last weekend, I attended a "Workshop for the Working Artist" at Fe Gallery in Lawrenceville. One of the panelists was Susan Blackman, the Director of Arts Programs for the
Greater Pittsburgh Arts Council, an arts organization in Allegheny County that does everything from handle ProArts ticket sales to working with artists to write grants and get funding for public projects.
Ms. Blackman told us about a free web service of the GPAC, the Pittsburgh Artist Registry. It's basically an online directory where hundreds of local artists of every kind have uploaded resumes, contact information, statements, and portfolios of their work. It's completely free, and a pretty handy networking tool, so I decided I would go ahead and
make one for myself.
